About Mochi
**Meet Mochi** Mochi may weigh just a little over **5 pounds**, but somehow she managed to squeeze about 20 pounds of personality into that tiny body. This little girl is quirky, cuddly, playful, opinionated, dog-loving and, above all else, a **serious foodie.** Mochi came to us after being abandoned and left on her neighbor's porch. We don't know much about the life she had before that or even if she was properly cared for, but one thing is certain: Mochi is ready for someone who is going to be committed to her for the rest of her life. Now, we need to discuss Mochi's relationship with food. Mochi LOVES human food. Her personal weakness? **Bread. Specifically, hot dog buns.** 😂 Do not underestimate this five-pound girl. She will steal bread from the cabinet, attempt to take it directly from your hand and happily volunteer herself as the official taste tester for whatever you're making for dinner. Personal boundaries surrounding snacks are simply not something Mochi believes in. When she isn't plotting her next kitchen heist, Mochi loves to play. Rope wand toys are one of her absolute favorites, although apparently the game isn't over until she grabs the rope, drags the entire toy away and hides it for later. She's also become a **big fan of dogs.** Mochi loves cuddling up with them and seems perfectly content using a dog as her own personal oversized pillow. She recently discovered kittens, too, and apparently decided, *Yep, those are mine.* Mochi thinks they're her babies and has happily appointed herself their tiny honorary mama. As gorgeous as Mochi is, maintaining that beautiful coat does come with some responsibility. Mochi does **not** enjoy being groomed and has very little patience for brushing. Unfortunately, she became severely matted and ultimately needed to be shaved. Don't worry, that beautiful fur will grow back! Her future family will need to be committed to keeping up with regular brushing and professional grooming when needed so she never becomes uncomfortable or matted again. And while Mochi can get along with other cats, we've learned something important about her: **Mochi doesn't really want to share her people.** She wants the attention. All of it. For that reason, we believe Mochi would be happiest as the **only cat in her forever home**, where she can soak up all the affection without having to compete for it. A cat-friendly dog, however? Mochi would probably be thrilled to have a canine cuddle buddy. Mochi needs someone who will appreciate all the funny little things that make her *Mochi*: the bread stealing, the toy hiding, the dog cuddling, the kitten mothering, the big opinions and the enormous personality packed into one ridiculously tiny kitty. She was already left behind once. **This time, we're looking for someone who will choose all five pounds of Mochi and mean forever.**
