Meet Shiba 🧡 Shiba arrived on June 24 as part of a Freedom Flight from Dominica alongside her friend Echo, leaving behind an uncertain future for the chance at a safe and loving life. When the girls first arrived, we believed they were deeply bonded and needed to stay together. But as they’ve settled in and become more comfortable, we’ve realized that they are much more independent than we originally thought. Shiba is ready to find a family of her very own. Shiba is a beautiful, playful and curious girl, but she is definitely on the shy side when it comes to people. She isn’t going to be the kitty who immediately runs up to greet a stranger. With Shiba, **trust takes time, patience, and allowing her to move at her own pace.** She needs someone who understands that the shy ones can sometimes take a little longer to show you who they really are. Give Shiba the space to observe, get comfortable, and learn that she is safe, and slowly that sweet personality begins to come through. She enjoys playing, exploring, and being around other cats, and having a confident feline friend in her new home may even help her continue coming out of her shell. Shiba is fully vetted, litter box trained, and gets along wonderfully with other cats. She isn’t looking for someone to rush her or expect her to be an instant lap cat. She’s looking for someone willing to earn her trust and celebrate all those little milestones along the way. This beautiful girl traveled all the way from Dominica for the chance at something better. Adoption Process
We hold phone interviews/screening process. If everything sounds good we then ask for a quick video chat, video tour or photos of the home to know exactly what kind of environment they'll be in. We may also come over an do a home tour with the cat. once we feel the cat and owner are a good match, you fill out the contract and pay adoption fee.
